A car wash employee cleaned up on Monday, though not in the way the car owner intended.

Police in Pursat town said the 24-year-old was detailing the vehicle when he found 2 million riel, about $500, the owner had forgotten in the car.

Quickly pocketing it, the washer’s newfound riches were even quicker to vanish when the victim realised what had happened and shouted for help.

The car washer bolted but police had him in cuffs shortly thereafter.
