Carousing youths cuffed by cops in Phnom Penh

A fun night on Koh Pich ended in welts and recriminations on Wednesday.

Police said two groups of twenty-something males had gotten into an argument which ended with two of them chasing down three others on moto and whipping them with a belt, injuring one.

Not taking it lying down, the trio proceeded to give chase then draw the attention of police with the one word guaranteed to get a crowd in Phnom Penh: “thief”.

Police made the arrest, but are trying to figure out exactly what instigated things.
