Casual night turns into slice-and-dice drama

Wine and blood were spilt early yesterday morning after a night of heavy drinking turned violent in Mondulkiri.

A 28-year-old man began quarrelling with his 19-year-old drinking pal and fellow farmer.

The argument escalated to vicious violence when the malcontented older man seized a nearby machete and mauled the unfortunate youth.

The victim was rushed to hospital while the wanton machete-wielding assailant was hauled in to the police station.
