A dog was poisoned by thieves to clear the path for them to steal two cows in Pursat province on Friday.

Police said the thieves served up a dish of poisoned dog food in their bovine bid.

The victim of the theft was a 53-year-old widow. The police confirmed the doggoned thieves were repeat offenders and had stolen cows in Koh Chum commune.

Villagers have requested police and the village chief to take action against the cow thieves to keep their homes safe.
