Ceremony descends into a hockey match

Police are scratching their heads after a celebratory dance at a pagoda inexplicably led to fisticuffs in Pursat town on Friday.

Police said the dance, part of a Buddhist ceremony, seemed to be going smoothly until a 22-year-old corn plantation employee walked over and launched into a brief argument with a teen before planting a few punches in his face.

Police detained the man over night, and the suspect’s family has tried to settle the matter by offering a cool $50 for medical treatment. Kampuchea Thmey
