Chain smoker tries out some chain shoplifting

A local nicotine addict thought she had her fix and then some on Saturday only to see her plans go up in smoke.

Police said the 26-year-old woman entered a shop in the capital’s Prampi Makara district, discreetly tossed a pack of smokes in her purse, then kept right on going until there were 25 more in the burgeoning bag.

Apparently, taking 26 packs was less than discreet, as a sales clerk caught on. Police were called and arrested the woman. DEUM AMPIL
