Christmas cheer turns to season’s beatings

A group of 10 construction workers saw a post-work booze-up turn predictably violent on Christmas Eve.

Police said the men went out for dinner and beer together, only to see a drink-fuelled argument descend into a battle involving fisticuffs and, eventually, rocks.

Police intervened, but only after one man had been injured badly enough to require hospitalisation. DEUM AMPIL
