Four men were arrested and four cocks liberated from an illegal cockfighting “arena” in Kandal province yesterday.

The suspects had regularly met to bet on cockfights, which they held in some bushes in the back of the village.

Neighbours spotted them and reported them to the police. The suspects tried to flee when the police arrived, but they did not get far.

The cops also confiscated a scale, two water barrels, four motorbikes and three bamboo cages.
