Outfitted like modern-day pirates, three young men carrying a machete faced a mutiny after trying to pull off a bag snatch and dash in the capital’s Ponsaing commune.

On Sunday, the victim was tailed by the terrorising trio before they veered close and swiped his bag.

The thieves’ escape was anything but smooth sailing as bystanders sailed in and held the group until police arrived.

Their blade was kept as evidence while the marauders were sent to the brig to await their trial.
