Dinner plans delayed due to murder attempt

A husband's past came back to haunt him and his wife in the form of a vicious attack in Phnom Penh on Monday night.

Police said the couple were headed out for dinner when a pair of men with a longstanding grievance with the husband blocked their path shouting “you will be killed soon”.

The duo attacked the husband with a wooden stick and machete. Attempting to defend her spouse, the woman was also struck in the arm with the blade. The men fled. KOH SANTEPHEAP
