An elderly man was severely injured, but was luckily left in one piece, after he was reportedly hit by a motorist riding at breakneck speed in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork district on Monday.

The man, 70, was throwing away garbage on the other side of the road when he was clipped by the motorist, causing severe injuries, police said.

The driver was also seriously injured and police suggested that the accident was due to excessive speed as the motorbike’s brakes were busted. The bike was taken into police custody. Koh Santepheap
