It was more than the light of the full moon that illuminated Kandal’s Kien Svay district on Wednesday thanks to some careless Water Festival revellers.

Police reported that one household had carelessly burned incense sticks on an altar, setting their wooden house ablaze and razing it to the ground.

The fire quickly spread to two similar neighbouring homes, partially destroying the structures and valuables contained inside.
