Fish-friendly vigilantes arrested after potshots

Two men were arrested in Kratie’s Sambo district yesterday after their enthusiasm for fishing protection tipped into militancy.

Claiming they were defending their community from illegal fishing, the pair on Monday started taking potshots at one unfortunate angler, clipping him in the hip before fleeing.

But the village vigilantes’ fishery-inspired flight was short-lived and two days later, police netted them, and are preparing to send them to court.
