A 53-year-old former teacher was arrested in Banteay Meanchey on Monday on suspicion of drug trafficking.

Police said the suspect was caught transporting the pills from his hometown of Poipet to Thma Puok district’s Kouk Romiet commune, adding that he had been involved in drugs for the last four years, three of which he had spent in prison.

Documents are now being prepared to send the errant educator to the provincial court, where 1,993 pills, two phones and a moto will be used as evidence against him.
