A friendly loan leads to an unfriendly standoff

A thieving friend in Kampong Cham town learned the meaning of payback when he was arrested on Saturday.

According to police, the 27-year-old suspect borrowed nearly $200 from a generous friend, promising to pay it back in a few months’ time.

But almost a year later, the money still hadn’t materialised. After trying to retrieve the cash himself, the friend called in the police, who arrested the suspect. He quickly confessed. KOH SANTEPHEAP
