Fruit truck delivers unwanted wake-up

The residents of two homes in Phnom Penh’s Chroy Changvar district were rudely awakened in the wee hours of yesterday morning after a man driving a fruit-laden truck crashed into their houses.

Police suspect the dozy delivery man may have nodded off at the wheel, hospitalising four people with his carelessness before fleeing the scene.

Police have impounded the vehicle and cargo, and are now on the lookout for the driver. Let’s hope their search bears fruit.
