Geared-up party-goers slam into pedestrian

Two men speeding through Banteay Meanchey province on Wednesday evening had a change of gear when they crashed into a pedestrian en route home from wedding celebrations.

According to local police, the accident was caused by a failure of gears on the motorcycle, which sent the vehicle plummeting into the victim, who was injured at the hip.

One of the motorcyclists also received head injuries and police reported that both parties had been sent to a medical clinic.
