Gold heist ends badly for capital pair on run

A pair of purported pilferers were pinched on Saturday by Siem Reap police under suspicion of grabbing some gold and green in Phnom Penh last month.

The victim’s complaint accused the crooks of breaking into the house and making off with pocketfuls of gold and cash before fleeing across the country to what they thought was a safe haven.

A little inter-provincial cooperation, however, was all it took to see the fugitive filchers brought to justice.
