Gold iPhone proves irresistible to thieves

Proximity to his homeland’s embassy was no protection for a Chinese tourist who was robbed of his phone in Phnom Penh’s Chamkar Mon district on Sunday.

Two suspects from the capital’s Meanchey district, who were arrested for the crime in the Tuol Kork district of the city later, chose their victim well, because the phone he was using was top of the range – a gold iPhone 6.

After they arrested the unemployed pair, aged 22 and 23, police also confiscated their Honda Dream motorbike, which was lacking a number plate.
