Gratuitous beating in capital gunpoint robbery

Police are hunting two men after a vicious attack on two teenage girls in Phnom Penh’s Chamkarmon district on Friday night.

The victims, 17 and 18, were returning from a friend’s birthday when they were held up by two men, who blocked their path and ordered them off their motorbike at gunpoint.

In a desperate bid to escape, one woman tried to ride off but was caught and beaten by one of the attackers, who escaped after stealing three phones. DEUM AMPIL
