A grudge, some booze – and violence ensues

Blurry eyes seeing sideways glances made for broken faces in Phnom Penh’s Por Sen Chey district on Friday evening.

While drinking outdoors, five garment workers didn’t take kindly to the facial expressions on two passers-by, police said.

The suspects grabbed wooden sticks and beat the two victims, causing serious head injuries. The group then turned their weapons on a passing car.

Police caught two suspects, 24 and 28. Both men confessed, explaining they were drunk and had previous feuds with the victims, who were hospitalised. KOH SANTEPHEAP
