High profile proves a bust for alleged burglar

A 40-year-old burglar discovered that utilising the rooftop may not be the most surreptitious way to exit a crime scene.

The home intruder broke into a house in Banteay Meanchey’s Poipet town on Monday and bagged valuables.

Neighbours saw the thief playing cat on a hot tin roof thereafter and quickly surrounded the house, cutting off his escape routes.

When the homeowner returned, he found his door open, jewellery missing and his helpful neighbours escorting the thief to police. KOH SANTEPHEAP
