Hit-and-run driver flees scene, abandons victim

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was left for dead by the driver of a truck that hit him head-on as he was overtaking a car in Kandal’s Kien Svay district on Friday.

The unfortunate biker sustained serious head injuries and a broken leg. The lorry driver assumed the young man had snuffed it, abandoned his vehicle and fled the scene.

The victim’s family sent him to hospital in Phnom Penh, while police are on the lookout for the fugitive trucker.
