Horseplay escalates when other shoe drops

Police in Kandal’s Stung district said a construction worker was drinking at a local bar on Monday when a farmer rode by.

When the farmer declined a drink, he playfully chased him. Thwarted, he finally lost patience and threw his flip-flop at the farmer, a major insult in Cambodia.

The farmer then grabbed a piece of firewood and attacked the construction worker, nailing him in the head and sending him to the ground in a pool of blood.

He’s since been sent to hospital in the capital, while the suspect was arrested. CEN
