Hungry thief served a beating by angry victim

A desperate 20-year-old was arrested early yesterday for allegedly breaking into a restaurant in Phnom Penh’s Prampi Makara district.

According to police, the man snuck into the restaurant, waking the owner in the process.

When the suspect ran for his life, the restaurateur gave chase, throwing kicks and punches along the way.

Police apprehended the suspect, who confessed, saying he was driven to steal because of a lack of money for food. KOH SANTEPHEAP
