A man was arrested for stealing a motorbike this Wednesday in Phnom Penh, but claimed to be an innocent bystander – sort of.

The man admitted to knowing the bike was stolen, but claimed he had just borrowed it from his friend who was the real burglar.

The dubious tale may not hold up in court however, as the victim’s sister was the one who initially identified the man as the thief.
