Illegal lotto pushers warned to desist

Residents of Svay Rieng enjoy a bet – if the arrest on Sunday of 12 people who slipped across the border from Vietnam to illegally flog tickets from that country’s lottery is anything to go by.

Instead of locking the offenders up, police who arrested the group made them promise not to sell any more tickets until 4:30pm.

Each of the touts was made to sign a contract promising not to repeat the offence.

The sellers’ lottery tickets were returned to them.
