Failing to fully imbibe the joyous spirit of a recent wedding – but not failing to imbibe a lot of liquor, no doubt – a man in Pursat’s Bakan district sicced a group of his friends on a fellow partygoer who touched his girlfriend’s hand on Wednesday.

Police said the hand-touching prompted the over-protective boyfriend to order his friends to attack the offender. Grabbing a wine bottle, they obliged, leaving the victim seriously injured before fleeing the scene.

The victim was hospitalised. Police are still seeking the attackers. RASMEI KAMPUCHEA
