Two men and a woman were arrested for extortion on Wednesday in Kampong Chhnang province after they allegedly kidnapped a man from Vietnam and held him for $20,000 in ransom, police said.

The victim came to visit Cambodia on November 5, according to police, and was kidnapped by the suspects, who called his father in Vietnam, demanding the money.

The father, while trying to negotiate, put in a call to Cambodian authorities, who tracked the suspects to the house where the victim was detained and arrested them, police said. KAMPUCHEA THMEY
