A family dispute turned violent in Kandal’s Ang Snuol district on Saturday, when a construction worker, 35, allegedly stabbed his father-in-law.

Police said the suspect came home blitzed and asked his wife for a few bucks.

An argument erupted and her father, 72, intervened but was knocked to the ground.

Just then, the father took out a knife but it was wrestled away by his assailant who proceeded to stab him five times in the arm, leg, face and back.

The father, critically injured and unconscious, was hospitalised while police arrested the suspect.
