Lack of petrol scuppers getaway for 2 robbers

When it comes to thievery, the devil is in the details, as a 19-year-old Kandal province man found out on Monday.

When the suspect and a 24-year-old alleged accomplice saw a moto parked about 100 metres away from its owner, he jumped on it and drove off, police said.

But soon after he sped away on the ill-gotten vehicle, it ran out of petrol.

When police arrested him, he confessed, adding that he and his accomplice steal bikes in the area regularly. Police sent the suspect to court. DEUM AMPIL
