Language barrier puts a stop to gold-digging

Police in Ratanakkiri province’s O’Yadav district arrested four Vietnamese nationals yesterday after discovering none of them spoke Khmer.

Questioning revealed the men had strayed into Cambodian territory unintentionally while prospecting for gold.

No fines or penalties were issued but all were given warnings by O’Yadav border police before being sent back over the border to Vietnam.
