Lights out for mangled lamp post in accident

Poor brakes led to a broken lamppost in Phnom Penh’s Sen Sok district early yesterday morning.

According to bystanders, the truck was careening down an overpass at high speed when it lost control and was unable to brake.

The truck hopped the curb and slammed directly into the lamppost, knocking it over.

Three people and the truck’s driver fled the scene of the accident, and police arrived later to impound the vehicle.
