Losses bad luck maybe, but violence a poor punt

An out-of-luck 39-year-old was arrested on Tuesday after beating up the owner of a lottery ticket shop where he had blown his savings.

The Takeo man owed the ticket-seller-cum-money-lender some $250. She called on him on Tuesday to ring in some debts.

After he couldn’t pay up, the pair got into an argument, which soon turned violent. Neighbours intervened while the man was strangling her. Luckily, she wasn’t seriously injured. NOKORWAT
