Machete-wielding man oddly unlucky in love

A case of puppy love very nearly resulted in an unlucky security guard being hacked to death in Preah Sihanouk’s Prey Nop district on Friday.

Police said a young man had fallen head over heels for a waitress in a local restaurant, only to become incensed when he saw her giving other customers equal attention.

The man went home and returned with a machete and several bottles, which he proceeded to smash, sending patrons fleeing.

When a security guard attempted to intervene, the man chased him around with the machete until police were able to step in. Nokorwat
