Buying an antique backfired and left a Pursat province man answering police queries after he was arrested for obtaining an unauthorised firearm.

When news of the purchase got to police on Tuesday they went to check it out, finding the 45-year-old with the aged armament but no paperwork.

He claimed to have bought the gun from another villager who found it while walking his dog, but regardless he was forwarded to the provincial station for a full investigation.
