A low-level labourer paid the price for the purported sins of his boss after being punched by a drunken colleague in the capital’s Choam Chao commune on Friday.

The victim was walking past the colleague’s rental room, when the tipsy suspect lashed out and hit him, saying the victim’s boss was “troublesome”.

When the victim filed a complaint, the lush fled. Police were summoned upon his return and they forced him to cough up $300 in compensation.
