Man realises ring is not worth five grand

A woman was arrested in Kandal’s Sa’ang district on Sunday after a failed fraud-and-run incident in which she allegedly attempted to cheat her victim out of some $5,000 before fleeing into hiding.

Police reported that the 47-year-old suspect sold a fake ring to a buyer in Phnom Penh, who quickly realised it was counterfeit and filed a police complaint.

Kandal authorities apprehended the woman in hiding with a relative, and extracted a confession before sending her to court.
