A teenager from Oddar Meanchey copped the rough end of the stick on Friday when a mentally ill middle-aged man snapped and belted him out of the blue.

According to police, the pair, who live together in Samrong district’s eponymous commune, were at home on Friday when the sudden violence broke out.

Holding a stick while watching his companion play, the 35-year-old suddenly struck a blow, leaving the youngster injured.

Officers arrested the arbitrary aggressor, who has since been detained ahead of a court date.
