Need for speed blinds biker to road dangers

A biker in Kandal’s Kien Svay district got a harsh lesson in the dangers of speeding on Tuesday, after he slammed into a broken-down truck laden with bricks and broke his thigh.

The truck driver had apparently placed a tree branch and light about 20 metres down the road to alert other drivers, but the 22-year-old’s breakneck – or rather break-leg – speed meant he didn’t see it. The truck driver reportedly fled the scene, thinking the man was dead. CEN
