Neighbourhood watch sees robbers nabbed

Sometimes it pays to have nosy neighbours, or at least attentive ones. According to police in Banteay Meanchey’s Poipet town, a couple was being robbed at gunpoint by two men early on Tuesday – the robbers were busy collecting the couple’s jewellery and about $500 in cash – when neighbours spotted the goings-on through a window.

They quickly phoned police, who showed up and arrested the allegedly armed thieves as they came out of the victims’ house. DEUM AMPIL
