New Year revelry turns nasty quickly in Poipet

Three men were arrested in Banteay Meanchey’s Poipet town on Sunday after making good on their Lunar New Year resolution to badly beat more co-workers this year.

Police said the three construction workers were drunkenly ushering in the new year with two colleagues when an argument escalated into a fight.

Grabbing rocks and a knife, the men allegedly laid into the two unfortunate partiers, leaving them seriously injured. Police intervened, and sent the two victims to hospital and the three suspects to court. KOH SANTEPHEAP
