For a young IT student in the capital’s Tuol Kork district on Friday night, life was looking pretty good.

After a night of clubbing, he was now rolling down a street at 2:30am with not one, but two female companions.

But the good vibes stopped just after he crossed the Stung Meanchey flyover; that’s when about 10 thugs riding five motorbikes suddenly appeared on either side.

Any thoughts of fleeing ended when one of the suspects pulled a handgun and fired it into the air. The trio wisely abandoned the moto and fled on foot.
