A 34-year-old Kandal man’s theory about his neighbour’s secret identity as a police agent was resolutely shot down on Tuesday, after neighbourly resentment nearly erupted into violence.

The neighbour was drinking at home when the man walked past, at which point he decided to make his feelings about being called an undercover copper clear, grabbing a sword to more forcefully drive the point home.

His intended victim fled, and the man was arrested.
