Peace at pagoda ends with foiled bike robbery

The peaceful precepts of Buddhism failed to stay the hand of angry students at a capital pagoda in the wee hours on Sunday. Police said a man had snuck onto the temple grounds and attempted to steal a motorbike belonging to one of the students living there.

Once spotted, the man found himself swiftly surrounded by a mob, who dished out some fists-on justice. After knocking the thief about, the students held him until first light, when they turned him over to police. KOH SANTEPHEAP
