Peacemaker’s attempts to mediate not welcome

A would-be good Samaritan is nursing his wounds after attempting to intervene in a row between fishermen on Saturday.

Police said the fish tale began in Kandal’s Koh Thom district where three fishermen were arguing over how to divide the day’s catch.

As things escalated, the 28-year-old victim attempted to play peacemaker, only to have the fishermen turn on him and beat him senseless with their oars. Police are now looking for the assailants. KKAMPUCHEA THMEY
