Tragedy was narrowly averted yesterday when a young man was literally talked down from the edge by a very persuasive capital policeman.
The 29-year-old man was high and tottering on the edge of the Khmer-Japanese Friendship Bridge, but was saved by police who managed to convince him not to kill himself.
When police questioned him, the man revealed some family troubles with his mother and brother had led him to consider jumping.
