Sept 20: Two soldiers are killed when one of them misfires a B40 rocket launcher while he is drunk in Kompong Chhnang province.

Sept 21: Two children and an old woman are seriously wounded when gunmen mannng an illegal water checkpoint at Kompong Luong commune, Ponhealeu district, Kandal opened fire on a boat from Siem Reap when it failed to stop. The owner of the boat says he has already paid the men on the check point and did not hear them shout a warning. He has already filed a complaint to the authorities.

Sept 22: Policeman Hanh Chamroen, 32, working for the Ministry of Interior, is seriously wounded at 8:10 pm while three offenders with an AK rifle fire at him to rob his Honda Cub motorcycle in front of the entrance to Wat Samrong Anded in Phnom Penh Thmei commune, Russeikeo district.

Sept 22: Vietnamese national Bieng Thy Va, 25, a smuggler from Ho Chi Minh to Phnom Penh, is robbed of $4,000 by four armed offenders riding on two motorcycles at the cigarette factory on Route II in Chak Angre Leu village, Mean Chey district North of Phnom Penh.

Sept 23: Police Capt Hong Hann, working for the Beng Salang Police Office in Khan Toul Ok, Phnom Penh is shot and seriously wounded at 4:30 am by two armed offenders in a robbery attempt on his Cub Press 50 motorcycle near the Phnom Penh Agricultural Office in Sangkat Toul Svay Prey II, Khan Chamkamon. Cap Hann says he was working as a moto-taxi driver part time to make his living, but was robbed after he had given a lift to the two offenders.

Sept 23: Four offenders and a taxi driver who was involved with a gold shop robbery near the Phsar Thmei market on Sept 21 in Phnom Penh are arrested by the military police in Battambang, but the stolen gold is still missing. The ring leader was killed on the spot by the shop owner. Police confiscate two AK rifles, three hand-made TNT bombs, a grenade detonator and some military clothes. The taxi driver says he was forced by the gang to take them to Battambang. The report by the owner says 40 damlungs of gold [ 1 damlung= $446] is missing.

Sept 23: Three civilians are seriously hurt and eight others slightly wounded, and their property, with an estimated cost of 40 million riel, is looted by a gang of about 30 Khmer Rouge soldiers who enter and attack the Kompong Tralach market in Kompong Chhnang. The guerrilas fire AK rifles, M16 and B40 rockets into the are and break into homes, but retreated after a counter attack by RCAF troops.

Sept 24: Policeman Meas Samnang, 32, working for the Protection Department of the Ministry of Interior, is robbed of his motorcycle while moonlighting as a taxi driver. The offender carrying a K59 handgun, took the bike near the Ministry of Education in Khan Chamkamon, Phnom Penh.

Sept 24: Police arrest three offenders after they have robbed medical student Heng Tola, 25, of his Crystal motorcycle at gun point on street 410 in Sangkat Beong Trabek, Khan Cham-kamon, Phnom Penh.

Sept 24: Police arrest Vietnamese national Thay Chao Tung, 18, after he has hit cleaner Houyng Lay, 37, with a wooden stick on the neck to rob her gold necklace while she was cleaning a bath room at the PhsarChhouk Tip hotel in Khan Chamkamon.

Sept 25: Sim Bo, 25, working for the traffic police unit in Phnom Penh, is robbed at 8:30 p.m. of his Cub 90 Honda motorcyle by three offenders, each armed with an AK-47 rifle, on gravelled road in Samrong commune, Dangko district, Phnom Penh.

Sept 26: So Siphan, 21, is robbed at 10 am of his c100 Honda motorcycle by two offenders carrying a K54 hand gun at the corner of streets 164 and 161 in Sangkat Orussei II, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh.

Sept 27: Army Maj Ngin Socheath, 26, working for the Ministry of Defense, shoots and kills himself at 7:10 p.m. while he was drinking medicinal wine with friends at a shop on Street 336 in Sangkat Viel Vong, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh.

Sept 27: Three armed offenders riding on a Crystal motorcycle rob at 6:45 p.m. Prak Samnang, 17, at gun point of his c100 Honda motorcycle at the corner of streets 292 and 143 in Sangkat Olympic, Khan Chamkamon.

Sept 27: A man in military uniform is shot and killed and his motorcycle is robbed in Toul Tok vilage, Toul Sangke commune, Russeikeo district, Phnom Penh. Witnesses say the victim has been murdered by another soldier, his pillion passenger.
