MAN ARRESTED AFTER AFFAIR
Doem Den was beaten and arrested for having an affair with a married woman, El Thea, in Prek Dambong commune, Muk Kampoul district, Kandal province Saturday. The affair was reported to the police by El Thea's husband Tin Try who demanded that Doem Den pay him US$1,500 in compensation. Villagers said that Doem Den was employed on a construction site next door to El Thea's house and that the pair was caught in a lover's embrace by the woman's husband. The accused admitted to the police that he met El Thea that night, but said that he only drank with her and did not hug or kiss her.

TWO INJURED IN A GRENADE ATTACK
Kheng Chan Thourn, 33, and his wife were seriously wounded when an unidentified man threw a grenade into their rice mill factory in Kampong Cham province's Tromoung commune Sunday. A neighbour said Kheng Chan Thourn and his wife used to quarrel with another owner of a rice mill factory in the area and the police said they suspect that a personal dispute caused the attack. Kheng Chan Thourn and his wife are recovering in a provincial hospital.

MAN POURS PETROL ON WIFE
Pa Yuth, 38, a moto taxi driver, was arrested after he poured petrol over his wife and two children and set them alight in Meanchey district, Phnom Penh, on Sunday. The perpetrator told the police he was angry at his wife because she refused to cook for him when he was hungry. Pa Yuth's wife and two children are being treated for severe burns at Kossamak Hospital while Pa Yuth has been sent to the Municipal Court for trial.

l Thieng Vang, 25, and Lor Lan, 22, were arrested and taken to Kien Svay district police office, Kandal province, for stealing five piglets from a farm where they were employed on Saturday. The owner of the pig farm said that many of his piglets were stolen before he finally caught the two men in the act. Villagers confirmed that they bought pigs from both men.

Khov Toun died after he was shot by two assailants during a moto robbery in Tuol Kork district, Phnom Penh, on Sunday. The man was shot by two gunmen a few minutes after he dropped off his girlfriend at her Tuol Kork family home.
