Two girls were rescued by police after a failed suicide attempt off Chroy Changvar Bridge on Tuesday. According to police, both girls decided to attempt suicide because their boyfriends had left them to marry other girls.

DRUNK MAN HITS MONK WITH STICK

Hun Paung, 41, was arrested by police on Saturday for allegedly beating a head monk, In Chhuy, 86, with a wooden stick while drunk. According to police, the man's mother had refused to give her son money, and when the monk arrived, he struck him twice. The incident happened at Preah Polea pagoda, Serey Sophorn district.

GANGSTERS CAUGHT BY POLICE

Russei Keo police arrested three gangsters on Monday for allegedly causing turbulence at Teok Thla commune in Phnom Penh. Touch Vanarith, 20, Chan Sophanith, 24, and Piv Nel were arrested after they allegedly attacked three victims and trashed their motorbikes. The victims told the police that they did not know why they were attacked by the trio.
